President of the Republic of Serbia Milan Milutinovic was born on December 19, 1942 in Belgrade. He graduated from the Faculty of Law in Belgrade.
After graduating, he performed many responsible political, social and public functions. He was a deputy in the Social-political Chamber of the Federal Assembly, Republican Secretary for Education and Science of Serbia, member of the Executive Council of Serbia in two mandates and director of the National Library of Serbia.
He was the ambassador in the Federal Ministry for Foreign Affairs and Chief of Sector and ambassador to Greece of the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia.
He is married, wife Olga and son Veljko. He speaks English and French.
In the presidential elections, on December 21, 1997, he won 2,181,808, that is, 59.23% of the votes cast.
