Belgrade, February 6th - Italian director Puppi Avatti officially closed the 28th international film festival "Fest 2000" in the Belgrade cinema "Dom sindikata" tonight.

Avatti was awarded a prize "Nebojsa Djukelic" of the Association of Belgrade film journalists and critics, as an author who was successful in all the genres and whose works marked this year's Fest.

Unofficial prize - Medallion of the students' jury - was awarded to a young director from Belgium, Frederick Fontein, after which the film "In the heart of lies" (Au Coeur du mensonge) of the French film industry doyen Claude Chabrol was shown.

About 100 films from more than 20 countries were shown at the 28th Fest since January 28th. About 400 projections were held in eight cinemas, while around 100.000 visitors watched them.

Along with Puppi, Antonio Avatti and Tonnin Bernardi from Italy, Belgrade was visited by film authors Fred Keleman and Faith Hellmer from Germany, Valery Ogorodnjikow from Russia, Frederick Fontein, Kim Bodnia and Dejan Cukic from Belgium, Danijel Hocevar and Jan Cvitkovic from Slovenia, Zrinko Ogresta, Dejan Sorak and Ognjen Svilicic from Croatia and many others.
